This Armenian Spaghetti is a beloved family recipe that’s been passed down and perfected through generations. Think of it as an Armenian take on pasta with meat sauce, but with a flavorful twist—warm allspice brings it all together. The secret? Tossing the pasta throughout the baking process to get those perfectly crispy, golden edges that make this dish so special.
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 box of spaghetti
1-2 cans of tomato paste
1 large yellow onion
1 tsp all spice
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
Water
Directions:
Dice onions and sauté in saucepan with olive oil, allspice, and salt.
Once onions become soft and translucent, add the ground beef and sauté on high until brown, keep stirring to ensure they are not burning
Lower to simmer and add the tomato paste until it's evenly distributed covering the meat.
Fill the empty tomato paste can with water and pour over the meat until the meat is covered completely with liquid
Simmer for a half hour, with the lid on occasionally stirring
Boil spaghetti for time required on packaging
Grab a circular pan and place a spoonful of meat sauce mixture to the bottom of pan
Once spaghetti is boiled, place in circular pan with the sauce from the ground beef at the bottom of the pan
Place all the ingredients together in the circular pan and stir gently, then add a pinch more salt and allspice.
Place in oven at 400 degrees for at least a half hour (toss every 10 minutes for a total of 3x).
Remove from oven and serve!
